Programme description
Main objectives
The ERDF-ESF Programme of Aquitaine aims to boost economic growth and contribute to achieving the Europe 2020 targets for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth: Developing digital economy to support growth, increasing the innovation capacity and the development and competitiveness of SMEs, continuing the energy transition while preserving natural heritage, improving employability of the people and ensuring integrated development in deprived urban areas.
Funding priorities
The Programme will focus on following main priorities:
- Increase research and innovation
- Strengthen access to ICTs
- Improve SMEs' competitiveness
- Enhance Energy and resource efficiency
- Adapt to climate change
- Preserve biodiversity
- Self-employment, entrepreneurship and business creation, especially among women and young people: actions in the social economy, green economy and elsewhere will encourage job creation and new start-ups
- increasing participation and attainment levels, especially for disadvantaged groups, in tertiary education: projects will help young unemployed people make the transition into working life, through training, guidance and cooperation with employers. Other measures will address university drop-out rates, in particular among students from deprived backgrounds and circumstances. They will be supported in completing their studies and getting well-qualified jobs.
- Enhancing equal access to lifelong learning for all age groups: actions will ensure easier access to training, skills and qualifications to help jobseekers secure an early return to work. Opportunities for those facing obstacles in finding work are a particular focus, such as young people, the poorly qualified and those from deprived backgrounds
- Encourage sustainable integrated urban development
Some of the expected results
- Increase of the level of research in enterprises by 15%
- Increase of the number of enterprises of medium size by 10%
- Increase of the part of enterprises using advanced ICT technologies by 16%
- Increase of renewable energies by 20%
- increase of energy efficiency of industry and tertiary by 10%
- decrease of energy consumption of private and public social housing by 12%
- increase of protected population against natural disasters by 14%
- consolidation of areas deserved to ecological continuities
- Increasing access of NEETs to employment or to paths for integration (+50%)
- Increasing the number of entrepreneurs among people further from the labour market (+ 40%)
- Increasing the number of disadvantaged pupils following higher studies (decreasing the level of drop-out by 2 points of percentage)
- Increasing the number of job seekers obtaining a qualification or finding a job after having followed a vocational training programme (+ 2 to 3 points of percentage); reducing the level of drop-out (- 5 points of percentage, i.e. – 17,5 %)
