The ‘Infopoints myenergy goes digital’ project aims to inform the citizens of Luxembourg about energy transition. The goal is to ensure the promotion of state and municipal aid to individuals wishing to carry out an energy retrofit or sustainable construction project, install technologies promoting renewable energies, or implement sustainable mobility.
Information and communication tools at the service of energy transition in Luxembourg
- 29 January 2020
Today’s biggest challenge is to be able to provide targeted, up-to-date and high quality information directly to the home or mobile of people who have a renovation, construction or sustainable mobility project. Our new Myrenovation app allows you to view in a few seconds the amount of aid, which is often high. Next, users want to know how to collect this money. Myenergy advisors can then quickly step in to complete the information necessary for their project to succeed.
In order to make as much information available to individuals, Myenergy networked various institutional players who usually work in a rather isolated manner, and has therefore been able to consolidate a great deal of data on the legal aspects and state and municipal aid related to energy transition, construction and sustainable mobility.
These players are the Ministry of Energy and Territorial Planning, the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Housing, the Chamber of Trades, the Federation of Artisans, the Order of Architects and Consulting Engineers and representatives of Luxembourg municipalities.
Myenergy is positioning itself as the partner of all these players to create synergies and support an ambitious national and local energy transition policy.
Building a collaborative network
The project made it possible to build a collaborative and consolidated network of municipalities and national players. It also led to the creation and development of new digital tools to raise awareness and inform citizens. A digital energy diagnostic tool for the home helps to guide individuals through the various stages of their sustainable energy retrofit project.
The Myrenovation mobile app, downloadable for free from the iOS and Android platforms, makes it possible to simulate municipal and state aid specific to each project and location and guides individuals throughout the process of requesting retrofitting aid, pre-financing for their project, and aid for sustainable mobility. The app also provides a great deal of simplified technical information on sustainable retrofitting methods.
Content available online
In addition, a great deal of online content has been created: the Myenergy website, a new content platform for the Luxembourg municipalities, aid calculators, etc. Finally, project management is carried out digitally (reports, data monitoring, first contacts with advisors, etc.). Other avenues for continuing to develop the digitalisation of myenergy’s services are currently being explored.
The aim of the project being to encourage the realisation of projects related to energy transition as well as sustainable mobility and construction; these should lead to new work for professionals in the construction, energy and mobility fields, as well as municipal staff (artisans, energy advisors and mobility and real estate professionals).
Total investment and European funding
The ‘Infopoints myenergy goes digital’ project received a total investment of EUR 2 602 769, with the European Regional Development Fund contributing EUR 1 041 108 under the ‘Investment for growth and jobs’ programme for the 2014-2020 programming period. The investment falls under the investment priority ‘Support for energy efficiency, intelligent energy management and use of renewable energies in public infrastructures, including in public buildings and the housing sector’.
