The Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (REGIO) is joining the activities in Brussels with a stand dedicated to the New European Bauhaus and its contribution to the Green Deal, as well as a bike tour of EU-funded green projects in Brussels.

On 7 May the EU institutions open their doors ahead of the 9th of May – Europe Day - that marks the signing of the 'Schuman Declaration'. The Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (REGIO) is joining the activities in Brussels with a stand dedicated to the New European Bauhaus and its contribution to the Green Deal, as well as a bike tour of EU-funded green projects in Brussels.
This Saturday, from 10.00 to 18.00, come and visit the Berlaymont building and its three villages dedicated to green, digital and youth. Outside, on the esplanade, many activities will take place: a space to talk about the EU action in relation to Ukraine, hip-hop dance performances, flag throwers, inter-cultural football activities.
Inside the Green Deal Village the DG REGIO stand focuses on the New European Bauhaus (NEB). Visitors will have a chance to discover some of the projects that won the first edition of the NEB Prizes in 2021 and will be invited to share their vision on what “beautiful, sustainable, together” means for their homes and communities, now or in the future. They can draw or write on post-its and “fill in our hearts” – place their wishes on the heart-shaped elements of the stand in exchange for a NEB branded pencil with aromatic seeds they can plant at home.
Outside, on the Berlaymont esplanade, visitors will have the opportunity to join another REGIO activity: visit Brussels by bike and discover three EU co-funded projects that make the capital of Europe vibrate:
