The countdown is on to the 3rd EU Macro-Regional Strategies Week on 7 to 11 March 2022 under the motto Engage, Empower, Evolve in Brussels.

Due to the pandemic situation, the majority of sessions around the topics Youth, EU Green Deal and Social Change will take place online with a strong notion to make the event as inclusive and lifelike as possible.
What does that mean?
After her keynote speech on wednesday morning, Elisa Ferreira, Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, will engage in a question and answer session with the audience. The Presidencies of the four EU MRS together with Marc Lemaitre, Director-General of DG REGIO, will join in to interact with the viewers in the opening session on Monday afternoon.
However, if one wants to engage and empower stakeholders, one has to involve them in the process. With less than three weeks to go, the programme has been finalised with the last but definitely not least input from stakeholders from all macro-regions and the EU institutions, showing great interest in the call that had been launched for the first time.
What is new?
Having listened to the feedback of stakeholders, the event moves from closed to open sessions with two exceptions.
Online participants will be able to follow the discussion of the active members of the 14th High-level group (HLG) meeting in the morning of 11 March 2022 in a purely listening mode.
The 5th meeting of the Presidencies of the 4 EU MRS and Trio, co-organised by the Lithuanian EUSBSR Presidency, is the only session to remain closed.
