The Joint Research Centre in collaboration with DG REGIO organised a workshop for managing authorities, local authorities and experts working in the field of Sustainable Urban Development strategies to present the new Self-Assessment Tool for urban strategies(SAT4SUD) supported by Cohesion Policy.

The SAT4SUD aims to help policy makers to evaluate the quality and the level of maturity of their strategies. The tool is structured taking into account the different phases of the policy cycle and according to the building blocks of the Handbook of Sustainable Urban Development Strategies: strategic dimension, territorial focus, governance, cross-sectoral integration, funding and finance, and monitoring.
The aim of the workshop was to invite all participants to use the SAT4SUD in their daily work. For this purpose, DGREGIO presented the tool in practice and the experience of 3 cities (A Coruna, Novo Mesto and Timisoara) that offered to test the tool and share the results with the audience.
