A neglected building in Malta will be redeveloped into a community centre and shelter to help people in need and victims of abuse, thanks to an ERDF-funded project.

The project, which has received funding of EUR 2 million from the ERDF, will allow relief organisation Caritas Malta to improve and expand its community services on the island.

Families in need and individuals with a variety of social problems will be able to receive help, either individually or in groups, with the aim of integrating them back into the community.

The Caritas Community Centre, in Blata l-Bajda, near Valletta, will provide offices for social workers and administration, a hub for volunteers, and community spaces, including a roof garden.
