Földeák municipality has built a new 531-metre-long drainage system as part of drainage renovations in the Hungarian village. The infrastructure, supported by the ERDF, will service 36 properties.

The area was selected for the project because it had no drainage system and the rainwater resulting from heavy rainfall was endangering local properties. Now, thanks to better water drainage and groundwater mitigation and prevention, the village’s natural and built environment is better protected.

Because of the positioning of the utilities and the elevated kerb system along the road, a closed gully top system was used. Feedthroughs under hard-surface roads and gateways to the properties were restored as part of the project.

The municipality used HUF 39 989 881 (EUR 111 059) in non-refundable EU support within the framework of the Széchenyi 2020 Program.
