At time of COVID-19 pandemic, the “Comunidade Intermunicipal” (CIM) of Coimbra region, ARS Centro and the Municipalities of Condeixa-a-Nova and Montemor-o-Velho have decided to cooperate under the EU cohesion policy pilot project “Mobile Health Unit in the Region of Coimbra”, which is about properly equipping two vehicles as mobile health units for population in the municipalities of Condeixa-a-Nova and Montemor-o-Velho. These vehicles, which will start operating soon, will be properly equipped to provide support especially to the most vulnerable people, families and groups, with the presence of multidisciplinary teams in the areas of healthcare, psychological and social support. After a first pilot phase, the idea is to extend the project benefits to the rest of the areas of the CIM in the future, so to provide municipalities with a better quality health& social assistance at home.
