Thanks to extensive EU investments in more efficient and accessible emergency healthcare services over the past years, Bulgaria is now much better equipped to fight the spread of the coronavirus.

The country can count on 237 modernised emergency care facilities with better infrastructure and emergency rooms with state-of-the-art medical equipment.

Part of the project also includes the purchase of 400 new ambulances with modern communication and life-saving devices, allowing for a rapid and effective intervention, especially in more remote areas and for the most vulnerable groups of patients.

The 182 ambulances that have already been delivered are equipped with the necessary devices for emergency medical activities in the conditions of coronavirus.
