Operational Programme 2007-2013: "Development of Eastern Poland" has been officially closed by the European Commission.
EUR 2.3 billion of EU funding was invested in the Eastern Poland regions (Lubelskie, Podkarpackie, Podlaskie, Świętokrzyskie and Warmińsko-Mazurskie) through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) between 2007 and 2013. The allocation aimed to stimulate systemic socio-economic growth in the macroregion through creating better investment conditions for firms, improving transport linkages and harnessing tourism potential. The programme has also directly benefited the citizens whose quality of life has substantially improved thanks to the EU investments.

The considerable part of funding was also allocated to the digital infrastructure to improve the Internet access of people and firms. Considerable improvements in public transport, roads and railways increased the attractiveness of the regions for inhabitants and investors.
