An ERDF-funded project has built a new industrial park in the northeastern Latvian town of Aluksne in a bid to boost regional entrepreneurship and employment.

The facility spans almost 1 000 m² and consists of production and storage spaces, as well as offices.

One company has already jumped at the chance to be part of the new facility and announced plans to create a sewing factory there. This will provide a number of new job opportunities, potentially giving locals a reason to stay in the area rather than go abroad to look for work.

EUR 1.8 million of the EUR 2.4 million project has been funded by the ERDF with the aim of fostering economic growth, job creation and increasingly vibrant and developed local Latvian regions.
