An ERDF-funded renovation project aims to regenerate Valletta, Malta – boosting businesses and benefitting both residents and tourists alike.
The EUR 24 million facelift is focused on the lower part of Valletta and includes the renovation and improvement of infrastructure, social housing, educational facilities, government buildings and open areas.
A local promenade and water polo pitch will also be revamped. Overall, the goal is to create a more liveable, vibrant and accessible city replete with enjoyable spaces and well-maintained heritage that reflects Malta’s national identity.
The project also aims to promote sustainable commercial activity in the Mediterranean city and ensure that it remains an attractive tourist destination.
The project is expected to be completed within three years.
