2017 Europe in My Region photo competition: And the winners are

Congratulations to the 3 equal winners of the 2017 Europe in My Region photo competition: Aliya Kazandzhieva from Bulgaria, Mathew Browne from the UK and Dirk Harmsen from Sweden.

Out of more than 700 photos submitted, the 3 winning photos are:

"Sustainable development of the urban environment in support of social integration in Burgas", by Aliya Kazandzhieva from Bulgaria. Fund: European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)

"Road improvement, walkways and cycleways in Wales" by Mathew Browne from the UK. Fund: European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)

"Nature conservation project; restoration and improved accessibility of meadows in the municipality of Skurup" by Dirk Harmsen from Sweden. Fund: EAFRD

The jury, composed of two photographers and a communication expert, selected the 3 winners from the 101 photos which received the most votes from Facebook users and a selection of 19 wildcards the jury chose based on the following criteria: aesthetic quality, creativity and relevance to the competition theme. In total participants submitted over 700 photos.

The winners will travel to Brussels and participate in a photo workshop offered by the Photo Academy Brussels, and will attend the award ceremony during the European Week of Regions and Cities.
