Lithuania’s State Territorial Planning and Construction Inspectorate (VTPSI) has begun the implementation of an ERDF-funded project entitled ‘Maintenance and control of the quality of construction of modernized buildings’. It aims to ensure a higher standard of renovations of apartment and public buildings across the Baltic republic.

The roughly 2 500 inspections will take place over the next three years, representing an annual increase of 800 individual reviews.

With some residents of apartment buildings suspicious of the quality of recently-carried out renovation work, the detailed inspections coupled with more intensive maintenance are expected to reduce the likelihood of hidden defects.
