Dynamisation of the local economies through interregional cooperation in the Mediterranean area: Two case studies

The objective of this conference is to learn how the combination of innovation and traditional features will help to create a balanced and sustained economic growth for the partners regions, which in the long term will contribute to the enhancement and dynamization of the local economies of the Mediterranean basin, and also to present the results of these two Mediterranean pilots. The audience will get a close view of how the interregional cooperation acts as key factor in the sustainable development of the regions, thanks to the experience and the view of Mediterranean regional and local entities and representatives from UNESCO, EESC and the European Institutions. Moreover, one expert of the MED programme will share his experience in the management of this initiative which strengthens the competitiveness, employment and sustainable development in 13 countries including the whole Northern Mediterranean seacoast. This conference is addressed to policy-makers, experts from national, regional and local authorities and entities, tourism stakeholders and Universities, among others, to support and promote the transfer and exchange of best practices and experience in this field.
