Title: In between?
Summary
"In between?" is an interdisciplinary, educational project designed to raise awareness among young Europeans about the historical, cultural and social issues specific to regions with multicultural identity and past. The project responds to the needs of exploring and researching European border territories, which through ages have been changing “the owners” and neighbours. The key role in the project play intercultural contacts between the groups of youth of different nationality and people who live in borderlands, who - using their individual background - will contribute to a unique perspective to the project activities. Through organizing the "In between?" project we aim to achieve the following goals : - to collect historical and contemporary anthropological materials from Central-Eastern European border regions, - digitalize most valuable items in home archives and record testimonies of people living there in order to preserve unwritten oral history of families and individuals, and to enrich European heritage, - to confront, compare and discuss the different experience and impressions about historical perspectives between the participants, witnesses of historical events and local communities of the border territories, - to reflect on the universalism of the human experience from different countries, cultures, places and historical context, and draw the attention to the impact of totalitarian regimes on daily life of European communities and individuals, - to provide a space for intercultural cooperation and dialogue between young Europeans. The project is divided into two phases: the spring and autumn edition of 2016. "In between?", operated by ENRS, engages several partner organisations and individual experts from Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, the Netherlands and Germany and develops different types of activities, such as non-formal education, research, debates, virtual exhibition, etc.
