Title: Toward solidarity and tolerance in EU
Summary
The „Toward solidarity and tolerance in EU“, acronym: SolidanceEU will be held from 18th to 20th September 2020 in Ludbreg. The project involves participants from Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro, Austria and Hungary. The main objective of the project is to give participants a chance to say their opinion and to discuss with others, learn from others about solidarity in EU towards vulnerable groups of citizens, including migrants and minority groups and to promote culture, tolerance and multiculturalism through the process of bringing European citizens of different nationalities and languages together. The specific objectives of the project are: to give opportunity to discuss topic of solidarity and to assess existing solidarity mechanisms inside the EU – reflection on policy areas; exchange of views and opinion between cultures and to establish linkages and common ground between different cultures, communities and people by promoting understanding and interaction. The general and specific objectives of the project will be achieved through debates, lectures and group work given by experts and representatives of EU parliament, interactive workshops that will be based on the new methods such as cycle way, and world cafe. Association “Žene iz centra svijeta” through this project wants to impel discussion with participants: solidarity in society, are we solidarity society, should all people be equally threatened, multiculturalism and tolerance as key components of social cohesion. These activities will contribute to the development of intercultural dialogue and solidarity in local communities in EU. Additional value of the project is that participate mixed countries – countries in EU and non EU. On that way, we will have opportunity to hear different views about local, regional and national policies regarding solidarity and helping vulnerable groups (poor people, elderly, migrants and people with disabilities).
