Title: Involvement and role of public authorities, civil society and volunteers in times of crisis as well as international SOLIdarity – learning from the COrona pandemic (SOLICO)
Summary
The main focus and topic of the SOLICO project was the discussion of experiences as well as good and bad practices around the management of the Covid 19 pandemic in the participating countries, regions and municipalities. The project gave the possibility of a broad, open and honest discussion of all pros and cons within the pandemic management and involved the perspectives of the political decision making level including the public health and medical perspective of pandemic management, disease prevention and crisis management but also the perspectives and contributions of the civil society organisations during pandemic management from social support, health support etc. during early pandemic phases but also re-opening after lock downs, planning and implementation of vaccination campaigns etc. have been analysed and discussed. Finally, also the views and contributions of citizens, their direct involvement and volunteering in times of crisis and pandemic management was part of the discussion process. During dedicated workshops in all partner countries, the Covid 19 pandemic management process was analysed and discussed under these aspects and perspectives. Examples of good practices were identified during the discussion and also put into a transnational comparison in all workshops. The collected views, findings and practices have been finally presented and discussed in a final transnational conference summarising all contributions. The partnership of the SOLICO project consisted of 11 project partners from 9 countries involving all countries from the Western Balkan: AT, SI; HR, HU, BiH, MNE, MKD, RS, KOS.A comprehensive dissemination and sustainability strategy, aiming at crucial stakeholders and multipliers was implemented employing the public relations and media potential of project partners as well as social media channels.
