Summary
The main result of REMEMBER project is that it managed to emotionally engage young generations through the language of art, and in particular the language of music, to learn more about the tragic events of our recent past so that the mistakes of communism are remembered and never repeated. The project achieved that through 5 dedicated events - music contest, concert, conference, mobile exhibition and stage performance, gathering more than 6080 people and attracting significant media attention, with its impact expected to spread far beyond its initial scope and duration.The project received wide public support and many well-known people took part in the different events. Professors and students at New Bulgarian University, American University in Bulgaria, South-West University in Blagoevgrad and others participated in the exhibitions, conferences and discussions. REMEMBER project managed to involve multiple schools and universities in its activities. Young musicians and students in History, Psychology, Literature, Graphic design, Photography could openly discuss the theme with the experts - historians, psychologists, writers, musicians, politicians. Finding interlinks and cross points between them made the start for the future development of the theme and its spreading outside of the closed professional societies to the wide number of people.More than 130 young musicians took part in Music Contest and Concert. 25 new songs were created. The winning songs were recorded in professional studio and a REMEMBER disk, with all songs, text and translations in English was issued in 7000 copies and is spreading on the events in the 5 partner countries.The REMEMBER Mobile Exhibition is visiting universities, conferences, municipalities, state administration buildings and different events in the 5 partner countries. The exhibition is accompanied by presentation of the project and performance of well-known musicians and artists. The 10 films from the REMEMBER Virtual exhibition are taking part in different events and are broadcasted online via FACEBOOK and YouTube.Two performances were inspired and presented on the stage of REMEMBER project: "The Forbidden"- of the young artists and „Honour the graves“-with the well-known artists. These performances will be furtherly shown on different stages. REMEMBER project managed to inspire the work of young musicians, actors, graphic designers, photographers and these themes will become part of their future artistic expressions.
