The production of illegal drugs requires chemicals - known as drug precursors – which are also used to make legitimate medicines, cosmetics and perfumes. Now, our EU rules need to be updated to prevent these products ending up in the wrong hands. Our public consultation on how to better tackle their illicit trade is open until 7 June.
