A Data Space that Governs itself
Date: 09/10/2026
Three new Supporting Activities were introduced.
SA09 defines how consent decisions can be represented and enforced within Simpl-Open while keeping responsibility for GDPR consent with the Data Controller. SA08 extends orchestration capabilities to application resources, enabling providers to share deployment information, credentials, and instructions with consumers. SA06 introduces metadata quality management, allowing Governance Authorities to define quality rules, apply thresholds, and make resource quality visible to consumers.
Several Business Processes were also refined. BP06 now supports cross-data-space search, enabling resource discovery across federated data spaces while preserving each participant's trust model. BP09A and BP09B strengthen resource consumption by requiring consent and policy checks before data or application resources can be accessed. BP02C enhances schema governance through improved versioning, validation, and change notification processes, while BP03A and BP13 update participant onboarding and IT administration procedures.
In addition, SA01 Data Orchestration now supports distributing workflows and services across multiple execution clusters, laying the foundation for more scalable deployments. Check full details on Business Processes in the Requirements section and the Requirements Changelog.
