Welcome to Issue #8 of the Simpl Newslette

This edition brings together the latest updates across the Simpl Programme, from new capabilities introduced with the Simpl‑Open Gdynia release to the first Simpl-Open Development Blog Post, the upcoming Simpl-Open features and the Simpl-Live implementation. We also highlight the recent community exchanges with Coffee with Simpl, and look ahead to the upcoming Simpl Annual Community Event on 10 December 2026 in Brussels and on the Europe’s new Open Source Strategy.

Simpl in the ecosystem: a clear place and purpose

At the Annual Community Event, we heard a common question: where does Simpl fit in the wider landscape, and what makes it different? Simpl‑Open provides an integrated open‑source middleware layer that helps initiatives stand up interoperable, sovereign data sharing. The approach is to integrate proven components and build what is missing, so contributors avoid reinventing the wheel.
