SEMIC 2025: Where Semantic Interoperability Meets Data Spaces

SEMIC, the Semantic Interoperability Community, is a European Commission initiative that promotes seamless data exchange between EU public administrations. It develops shared standards, tools and best practices to enable interconnected e-Government systems across Europe.

SEMIC is more than standards. It is a key event for everyone working in interoperability, focused on making semantic interoperability the foundation for trusted and scalable data spaces. Simpl’s work on discoverability and interoperability aligns closely with this vision, turning principles into practical solutions.

This year, Simpl was active both on stage and in the community. Valentina joined a panel discussion that sought to answer the question:

“How does semantic interoperability enable data spaces and reliable data exchange in Europe?”

The session focused on the current landscape, emerging trends and the role of semantics in shaping future European data spaces.

At the stand, the Simpl team spoke with visitors on real-world scenarios, highlighting how interoperability can make complex ecosystems work more effectively.
