Call for participants: Commission Stakeholder Contact Group on Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan

date:  23/04/2021

The Commission has today issued a call for participants in the stakeholder contact group on the implementation of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, which was adopted on 3 February 2021. The group’s work will focus on the four pillars of the Plan:

  • Prevention
  • Early detection
  • Diagnosis and treatment
  • Quality of life of cancer patients and survivors

It will also work on cross-cutting issues such as inequalities and paediatric cancer. The implementation of the Cancer Plan will be monitored through an implementation roadmap and progress indicators. The Commission will meet with representatives at regular intervals, at least twice per year, as stated in the governance mechanism of the Cancer Plan.

Stakeholder involvement contributes to the ownership of Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan and complements the work of the EU Cancer Plan Implementation Group, as well as cooperation with the European Parliament, Cancer Mission and EU Member States.

Interested participants should join the EU Health Policy Platform and request access to the network ‘Beating Cancer – Stakeholder Contact Group’ by 15 May.
