FOODRUS triple event: reducing food waste on 31st January and 1st February

FOODRUS will celebrate 3 replication events in Spain to raise awareness about the challenges faced by the value chain actors and inform on strategies for the prevention of food loss and food waste.

Horizon Europe call for application food waste and climate projects

The call is open to support R&I projects by stakeholders and Member States to prevent and reduce food waste and to help reach 2030 climate targets. The deadline to apply is 22/02/2024.

EU grants to support food waste prevention actions by stakeholders and Member States

The Commission work programme for the Single Market Programme for 2024-2027 has been adopted, paving the way for the launch of new calls for application later in 2024.

Food Waste Committee proposes recommended measures to reduce food waste by 50 % in Norway

The Norwegian Food Waste Committee report suggests 33 recommended measures with a broad and holistic approach to the whole value chain including consumers. The proposed measures have a potential of 75 % reduction.

Fighting food waste through conscious refrigeration in Hungary

Project Wasteless has launched a refrigeration guide to help consumers store food safely and sustainably. To mark the publication, readers can test their knowledge with a quiz where they can win valuable prizes.

Report on the EUFIC PAN-EU food waste consumer survey

The survey was conducted in 8 Member States to examine which sociodemographic factors, attitudes, skills, knowledge and motivations best predicted the self-reported frequency of throwing away food at a household level.

Info on the Norwegian Model for food waste reduction

The Norwegian model incorporates initiatives like "The Negotiated Agreement on Food Waste Reduction" and "KuttMatsvinn Servering" ensuring that food waste is addressed throughout the value chain including households.

Over 1660 eating places are part of Matvett's food waste reduction collaboration

"KuttMatsvinn Servering" is a collaboration between Matvett and the food service industry in Norway, aiming to halve food waste by 2030, offering an extensive toolkit for the participants.

EU food waste reduction exchange event took place in Beijing

''Pride on our Plates - China-Europe Exchange Forum" held an event on 17 November in China, sharing views on policy advocacy, best practices, behaviour change and much more.

Policy roundtable on recommendations to overcome barriers in food waste prevention and reduction

During the meeting on 23 January, ACR+ presented the recommendations based on the identified barriers, addressing key identified issues at different food value chain stages.
