In one week, on 29 September, the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste (IDAFLW) will be observed for the third time!

In 2021, the Commission launched the EU Food Loss and Waste Prevention Hub, a ‘one-stop-shop’ for information on food waste prevention in the EU, to mark the international day. One year later, the Hub gathers 300+ resources and news and 2000 subscribers stay up to date with the latest food loss and waste prevention developments every month. We would like to thank you for your contributions and for all your work to drive food losses and waste out of our food system!

This year’s edition of the international day makes a clear call to action to work together to cut food loss and waste to enhance the efficient use of natural resources, mitigate climate change and support food security and nutrition.

Would you like to get involved and help us spread the word? Check out the Commission’s IDAFLW webpage, download the communication materials and share them via social media!

Read about what’s happening on the IDAFLW and ahead of the day in this special edition of the Hub’s newsletter!
