EU grants to help stakeholders take action against food waste

The call aims to support stakeholders in the hospitality and food services’ sector to improve food waste measurement and help implement food waste prevention in their operations and organisations. Apply before 20 September!

Meet the European Consumer Food Waste Forum experts

16 consumer food waste prevention practitioners and researchers were selected through an open call to collaborate with the European Consumer Food Waste Forum, which began its work in October 2021.

France: RÉGAL Normandie presents the regional "Empty Plate Challenge" for catering sites

RÉGAL Normandie is challenging all collective catering in Normandy to reduce their waste during one week, twice a year. Establishments are asked to weigh their waste as a first step to act against food waste.

WRAP: Scope 3 GHG Measurement and Reporting Protocols for Food and Drink businesses in UK

WRAP has published a consistent methodology for businesses to accurately measure and report food and drink greenhouse gas emissions.

Forum “Step by step on the road to the Farm to Fork Strategy” was held in Bulgaria in June 2022. The forum covered several areas including the Farm to Fork Strategy; food loss and waste; food quality and the relationship between food producers and consumers.

WRAP: Food Waste Action Week 2022 - what did we achieve together?

Earlier this year, WRAP celebrated Food Waste Action Week between 7-13 March, inspiring citizens across the world to waste less food. The campaign reached over eight million people in the UK, with a massive 55% of them saying they did something about food waste as a result.

FAO: A holistic approach to food loss reduction in Africa

This paper shows the need for a paradigm shift of food loss reduction research and development programs as resulted from a project implemented in Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda.
