Characterising flavours in tobacco products: members of Independent Advisory Panel appointed

date:  03/04/2017

The Commission has appointed the six members of its newly established independent advisory panel assisting Member States and the Commission in determining whether tobacco products have a characterising flavour, together with a reserve list. These members are highly qualified independent experts covering the areas of sensory, statistical and chemical analysis. The panel has been established pursuant to Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2016/786.

The members have been selected by an evaluation panel, and appointed in their personal capacity to act independently in the public interest. The first meeting of the panel will take place in Brussels on 1 June 2017.
