Each year in the payment of the June salary, many of our colleagues across the Commission, entitled to the expatriation or foreign residence allowance, will receive the annual travel payment (FVO).

This calculation of the annual travel payment is comprised of a complex formula which needs to take into account several types of information from your personal file, for instance your individual entitlements, your place of origin and your family composition. As such, the payment made each calendar year represents the cost of travel from the place of employment to the place of origin.

The teams from PMO.1, DIGIT and the BUSINESS QUALITY team of PMO.6, who coordinated the exercise, ensured that all the necessary analysis and testing was carried out in preparation for this payment. To concretely put it, this involved the management of approx. 37000 calculations in SYSPER. Thanks to the great collaboration between the teams, very few errors arose in the testing simulations.
