If you have not already completed your migration to the WELCOME domain, now is the best time to do it!  So far, 387 colleagues across the PMO are enjoying the benefits of this new environment. This article will tell you all you need to know about the process.

WELCOME is a faster and more secure environment, allowing you to have the best possible experience when working remotely and from the office. It provides more options of multi-factor authentication (MFA), such as the fingerprint. Make sure to read our article here on MFA to understand how to configure this.

Please note that this currently applies to colleagues in BXL and LUX. Information related to the migration for colleagues in ISPRA will be shared as soon as it is made available.

The migration will become mandatory in 2023 so it is recommended that you complete it while there is still the possibility of choosing the time slot that best suits you. Completing the migration is a self-serviced process where the screens guide you through each step. However, there are some important steps to take before completing the migration.

Before the migration

Read the steps at this link to correctly prepare before you migrate. It is important that you:

• Make a list of your connected FMBs
• back up your local data from the C: drive
• back up your browser bookmarks (read how to back up bookmarks guide)
• back up your OneNote notebooks – click ‘save as’ on each notebook and store in a network location such as the H: drive
• keep your laptop charger with you
• contact EC HELPDESK if you have more than one laptop to migrate
• know that My IT environment in My Remote is not available in WELCOME

During the migration

Once you have completed these steps, now you are ready to migrate! It is important to note that the migration takes approximately 3 hours and must be completed from the office. Simply click on the WELCOME icon in your taskbar (bottom right corner, ^ symbol) and the migration will start. Now you don’t need to do anything. The system will inform you if you need to complete some actions. Please ensure that you keep the laptop open during the entire migration process.

Did you know that if you contact 77777, a dedicated colleague will walk you through the steps of the migration? Make sure to call if you face any issues. You can also go to the WELCOME support zone on the ground floor of the MERO building beside the elevators. In LUX, you can find support with the DRB proximity team.

After the migration

• As soon as the migration is finished, you will automatically receive your SECEM 2 certificates by mail
• You must restore your SECEM A certificates (read how to restore SECEM A guide)
• If you have a mobile device registered in MDM, you will need to register it again. If the migration process doesn’t prompt you to do this, contact EC IT Helpdesk
• Reinstall your FMBs (read the guide to add your FMBs in WELCOME)
• Import your browser bookmarks (read the guide to import bookmarks)
