Please update your EU Login authentication method before 30 June 2025

date: 28/02/2025
Dear Madam, dear Sir,
To benefit from uninterrupted access to the Commission’s digital services, you will need to have at least one alternative EU Login authentication method to the SMS before 30 June 2025.
We are aware that this change may pose difficulties, and we want to reassure you that the PMO will provide guidance and support.
What can you do now?
Find the authentication method that suits you best in the interactive step-by-step guide and access additional guidance how to configure the different EU Login authentication methods in the videos below:
-
The EU Login mobile app.
-
Your national electronic identity card or the national electronic identification app (eID): see the list of EU countries using the electronic identification.
For more information on EU Login and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), visit the EU Login User Portal.
If you need to create a new EU Login account or if you encounter difficulties in using your account, please follow the instructions of the Guide on Access to EC Digital Services for EU staff in post-activity (2025).
Do you still need help?
You can attend support sessions organised by the PMO to help all pensioners update their EU Login authentication methods and maintain uninterrupted access to the European Commission's digital services.

-

You can still use SMS authentication until mid-2025
After mid-2025, you will still be able to set up an alternative authentication method. However, this may temporarily disrupt your access to the Commission’s digital services.
We therefore advise you to take the necessary steps in advance and look forward to supporting you during this transition.
Updates and additional information
Please check the EU login page of the PMO Service Guide regularly. It will be updated as new information becomes available.
