Free Radicals: Summer School & Residency Open Call
date: 19/05/2025
Haenke is pleased to announce the launch of Free Radicals, a two-year research project exploring the intersections of plant biodiversity and creative practice, funded by Creative Europe. The project will result in an open-source toolkit designed to help individuals and institutions in the cultural sector adopt practices that support plant biodiversity and interspecies care.
Applications are now open for the Free Radicals summer school and residency programme, hosted by Fundación Uxío Novoneyra in Spain, Quinta das Relvas in Portugal, and Today Art Initiative in Armenia.
Guided by the diverse local contexts as well as experts from across the arts–science axis, residency participants will develop original works that serve as “proofs of concept” for how plant biodiversity and the larger more-than-human ecosystem can be embedded in creative practice. Artworks will be presented in a final group exhibition in Lisbon in autumn 2026.
You can apply via this link. Please see individual open calls for specific requirements. For further details on the open call conditions, please visit the project website. Deadline for applications: 31 May 2025.
