Now open: 2027 European Green Capital and Green Leaf Competition

The European Commission has launched the 2027 European Green Capital and Green Leaf competition, which recogniszes and rewards the efforts of European towns and cities that strive to reduce their local and global environmental impact while improving the quality of life for their inhabitants.  

Cities with over 100,000 inhabitants can apply for the European Green Capital Award, while smaller towns and cities with more than 20,000 inhabitants can apply for the European Green Leaf Award.  

The deadline for applying is 15 April 2025, so don't miss your chance to showcase your city's sustainability achievements. This competition is a great opportunity for cities to share their experiences, learn from each other, and inspire others to follow their lead in creating a more sustainable future.
