The European Commission has launched today a consultation process inviting all interested parties to co-define the priorities and content of the New European Bauhaus Facility.

The NEB Facility is a unique funding tool that aims to revitalise neighbourhoods through design for sustainability and inclusion. Anchored in Horizon Europe, the EU research and innovation programme, the NEB Facility is a multi-annual and cross-cutting tool that builds on and combines different funding instruments of the Commission and covers the full cycle of implementation of solutions – from research and innovation to deployment – through its two components:

The research and innovation (R&I) component will cover fundamental research, testing and demonstration. It will be funded through Horizon Europe, with an indicative budget of €120 million per year for the period 2025-2027. 

The roll-out component will scale up, deploy, and implement the innovative solutions, business models, and more that result from the research and innovation component. It will also serve to identify additional R&I areas on the ground. The roll-out component will be delivered through investments across different EU programmes. 

The consultation seeks to identify the concrete research and innovation, as well as deployment needs on the ground and to gather the most cutting-edge ideas required for the comprehensive transformation of neighbourhoods for the better. Stakeholders’ input will help in the development of the roadmap that will guide the implementation of the NEB Facility for the period 2025-2027, defining the objectives and activities under both the Research & Innovation and Roll-out components of the NEB Facility.

Info session on NEB Facility consultations 

New European Bauhaus unit is organising an info session on the NEB Facility consultation process on 26 June 2024 from 11:00 to 12:30 CET. 

The info session will provide information about the NEB Facility and the consultation process and will offer an opportunity to resolve any questions you have and share your feedback on NEB Facility.
