Updates from the Brussels Chapter

/

date:  19/02/2024

The Brussels Chapter of the New European Bauhaus is ready to launch "Beautiful, together", a collection of experiences that link us to art in public spaces. The project is a collaboration between the Société du Logement de la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale (SLRB) and the founders of the Chapter: Housing Europe, Livepods and Creative District.

The project aims to give an unbiased, non-mediated overview of citizens' experiences related to art in public spaces. The collection methodology and some of the initial stories will be shared during the Chapter's online sense-making event, part of their satellite event on 19 Aprili.

The first collection will take place this Wednesday, at the inauguration of a social housing building and extension within the Maison Coopérative Destrier de Sans Titre (Porte D.), a work of art, accompanied by a participatory process, by Léa Mayer and Evelyne de Behr.

The Chapter will have additional online and offline collection events in February, March, and April (during two guided tours in the framework of our satellite event, on 20 and 21 April) and May (during the Fête de l'Iris). Reach out if you'd like to be kept up-to-date on that.

By the way, if you have ever been to Brussels and were struck by a work of art in a public place, you can share your story here. You can share your story in any language.

Finally, let the Brussels Chapter know if you're interested in extending the exercise in your own city! They're looking to hear from citizens of any city, about art, everywhere! For more info, please send an email to bxl@neb-chapter.eu.
