NEB Lab project proposal: Public infrastructure for Ukraine

/

date:  12/02/2024

Last Friday, we organized the first NEB Lab pitching session of 2024. The project that was presented is called "Public Infrastructure in Ukraine", and it aims to establish a hub of professional knowledge and an incubator for case studies.

The project will pave the way for democratic, open, transparent, and quality-oriented processes to obtain the best design and implementation schemes for public infrastructure in Ukraine by using co-creation and architectural design competition as design tools.

The first initiative following the proposed conceptual and methodological framework of the project has already been launched, which is the "Future School for Ukraine". The experiences from architectural competitions and the evaluation of case studies will contribute to relevant lessons learned that will translate into recommendations for local and state administration to amend Ukrainian legislation.

Are you interested in joining the project?

The project partners are looking for architectural organizations, universities and research institutions from Europe and Ukraine, governmental sectors from Europe and Ukraine, local administrations from Ukraine, communities and NGOs from Ukraine or regional communities and NGOs from Europe, as well as regional and global donors (foundations, organizations), and other interested parties to join the project.

They especially encourages involvement in the fields of sharing experience and knowledge in quality architectural competition making, involvement of local (Ukrainian) stakeholders such as architects, artists, communities, local authorities, etc. into the process, and dealing with the differences of European and Ukrainian legal bases in public procurement, urban and architectural design fields.
