European Union Ministers responsible for Housing and Urban Development agreed on the Gijón Declaration, which is considered a significant step towards creating more inclusive, sustainable, and healthy living environments. The declaration proposes a comprehensive approach, including collaborative governance, tailored solutions for vulnerable groups, sustainable housing, and effective use of EU funds. It also calls for the assessment of social housing definitions, the promotion of public-private collaboration and applying the fundamental values of New European Bauhaus for quality of design, and architecture for sustainable and inclusive places.
