The third edition of the NEB Prizes received more than 1,400 applications. To celebrate the European Year of Skills, the Prizes 2023 also included an additional strand focused on education and learning. For the first time, the Prizes 2023 accepted applications from the Western Balkans in addition to the EU Member States.

Out of the 61 finalists, 15 winners with exemplary initiatives of the New European Bauhaus were announced at the annual NEB Prizes Award Ceremony that took place on 22 June in the framework of the NEB in Cities and Regions event. The winners will receive a monetary prize of up to €30,000 and a communication package to help them further develop and promote their projects and concepts.

Commissioner for Cohesion Policy and Reforms, Elisa Ferreira, who awarded the Prizes and announced the winner of the call said: “The NEB Prizes work on finding innovative yet replicable and realistic solutions to make our cities and neighbourhoods better places to live in. Beauty and sustainability go hand in hand with a greener and more inclusive living environment. We award talents for their bright ideas, and we support making them real.”
