The "#ECIS23 conference “Transformative Skills: embracing friction to create the unexpected", organized by the European Creative Business Network and RISE, Research Institute of Sweden, will take place on 15 February in Umeå (Sweden). Register here for online participation. 

The conference deals with what can design do for a regenerative societal transformation, and what skills we need for it. It hosts both institutional conversations on Transformative Skills and a workshop to iterate on the EU Design Agenda for the EIT Culture and Creativity.

It also hosts an exhibition with a broad spectrum of possible forms that design can take to address systemic change: from methods to tools, from data visual sensemaking to experimentation with biomaterials, and from speculative futures to VR experiences. Navigating complexity, experimenting with frictions, cultivating vulnerability, fostering risk-taking: how do they look when they become form?
