2 days left to register for the workshop on participatory approaches

Dear community member,

date:  31/10/2022

Participation is one of the three key principles guiding the delivery of the New European Bauhaus initiative. We received several requests from the NEB community to organize a capacity-building activity on how to plan and implement participatory activities and projects. We are happy to invite you to a workshop on participatory approaches.

Date: 11 November 2022
Time: 11:00 – 13:00 (CET)
Place: Webex
Registration deadline: 9 November 2022 at 11:59 CET
Registration link: https://europa.eu/!pCmjtH

The meeting link will be shared with registered participants on 9 November 2022.

Description of the workshop

The workshop aims at increasing the participants’ knowledge about methods for engaging with their various stakeholder groups.

It will start with an input presentation that will give an overview of the paradigm of participation, the different levels of engagement, and useful related online toolkits. Moreover, our expert, Dr Vera Köpsel, will share her own experiences with participatory research projects, what worked well, and what did not.

Subsequently, a group work session will give the participants the opportunity to reflect on and exchange about the challenges they face when implementing participatory approaches in their own projects. At the end of the workshop, the results of this interactive phase will be discussed in plenary and key questions will be addressed by Dr Köpsel.

Meet the expert

Dr Vera Köpsel works at the University of Hamburg where she currently leads the work packages for Stakeholder Engagement & Communication in two large EU projects focusing on the marine environment and nature-based solutions (NBS). Her personal toolbox includes blueprints for engagement planning and coordination that can be applied to existing projects and adjusted for new ones, whether already funded or still in the proposal stage.

Contact Borut Cink if you have any questions about the workshop.
