New European Bauhaus Festival // Registration, promotion and press conference

Dear community member,

date:  20/05/2022

The first Festival of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) is just around the corner and as of today, registration to participate in our debates are open to general public. The day also marks the beginning of our official communication actions. Therefore, we count on your support to help promote the Festival to turn it into a vibrant moment of networking, exchange and celebration of the New European Bauhaus.

The Festival platform and registration page are live: website of the Festival

To help you get the message out, the team prepared a whole range of material that you can download HERE, including:

  • Pre-made social messages in English to use on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or LinkedIn;
  • Social media visuals, from static to videos, posters and quote cards that you can adapt to your own needs;
  • A detailed programme for the Fair, Fest and Forum.

We are also organizing a press conference in Brussels today at 15:00 CET that you can follow online: web stream link. The press release following the conference, which can be used for your own communication, will be added to the download page.

Main features of the NEB Festival

The Forum will include over 60 speakers from all around the world:

  • Prominent architects such as Francis Kéré, Shigeru Ban, Rem Koolhaas and Stefano Boeri;
  • Significant figures such as Francesca Bria (Italian National Innovation Fund), Gerfried Stocker (Ars Electronica), Hans Ulrich Obrist (Serpentine Gallery), Sandrine Dixon (Club of Rome) and Emeka Ogboh;
  • Scientists like John Schellnhuber and Stefano Mancuso;
  • Climate activists such as Dominika Lasota and Hilda Nakabuye as well as many others from the world of sustainability, culture, art and social science;
  • President Ursula Von Der Leyen, Commissioners Johannes Hahn, Mariya Gabriel, Elisa Ferreira and Kadri Simson, will provide a European perspective on beauty, sustainability and togetherness.

On Saturday 11 June, the Festival will also host the 2022 New European Bauhaus prizes ceremony, awarding the best projects around Europe as well as the best ideas by young talents, the New European Bauhaus Rising Stars – an event open for journalists and the public.

To follow the Forum, as announced in previous weeks, you need to register and the seats are limited. If you have not done so, please make sure you register as soon as possible to make sure that you can have a seat. Parts of the Forum, the Fair, Fest and networking will be open and no registration is needed.

The Fair will feature over 100 innovative projects, which will be displayed at fixed locations, as well as on e-bikes and electrical tuk-tuks scattered across Brussels’ city centre and online on the event platform. The Fest programme will also feature dances, installations, theatre, and music performances - such as Patsyki Z Franeka, popular Ukrainian artist band and Дeva, Budapest-based musician and 2022 winner of the Music Moves Europe Awards – as well as scientific experiments, upcycling workshops, and much more.

The Festival will also feature more than 200 co-created side events - in Brussels and in over 20 EU countries, with activities ranging from concerts to conferences to fully-fledged festivals.

Your help with communicating this unique event to citizens and encouraging your network and followers to get involved is essential in making the first edition of the Festival of the New European Bauhaus a resounding success!

We count on your support and we look forward to your participation in the Festival from 9-12 June 2022.

We remain at your disposal for any questions that you may have.
