Share your views: Targeted consultation under the proposed New European Bauhaus mission

Scientists, innovators, urban planners, architects, civil engineers, business and industry representatives, and EU citizens - join us in rethinking the neighbourhoods of tomorrow!

On 19 July 2023, the European Commission proposed a potential new EU Mission for the New European Bauhaus to pioneer the future in neighbourhoods across Europe through innovative circularity in the built environment, affordable finance and valuable EU cultural content and diversity.

The proposed New European Bauhaus mission will aim to:

  • Make Europe's construction ecosystem the world leader in circular and regenerative approaches, delivering key knowledge, technologies, skills, inclusive business models, and jobs for a fair green transition and EU’s strategic autonomy;
  • Ensure a people-centred governance of transformation processes, putting citizens, identity, belonging, cultural heritage and diversity and democracy at the centre of the green transition;
  • Boost public and private investments in R&I, support innovative funding practices and finance new business models allowing R&I to be scaled up in Europe and ensuring the circularity, affordability and cultural value of Europe's new and renovated built environment.

In order to identify and define the right components of this potential future mission, we have launched a series of targeted consultations to get your insights on three key topics:

📌 First survey: R&I for the transformation of our construction ecosystem

📌 Second survey: R&I for innovative funding approaches

📌 Third survey: R&I for community engagement and local democracy

Take a moment to fill in any of the above surveys - or all three - and don’t hesitate to share them with any interested person or organisation!

It was organised by and with our Ukrainian partners: Ro3kvit, ReThink, Covenant of Mayors East and the Architects’ Council of Europe.

In this online summary session, we will share the main findings of the beautiful, sustainable and inclusive reconstruction of Ukraine that is in line with the needs, interests and values of local communities.
