What is Technical Support Instrument (TSI)?

/

date:  23/06/2024

The Technical Support Instrument (TSI) is an EU programme that provides tailor-made technical expertise to the EU Member States, and regional and local authorities to design and implement reforms. The support is demand-driven and does not require co-financing from the Member States. The TSI offers Member States a unique service to help them tackle reform challenges in a wide range of areas. The support can take the form of, for example, studies and analyses, capacity building and training, strategic advice, and expert visits on the ground. It can cover any phase in the reform process, from preparation and design to development and implementation of the reforms.

Why is this relevant for the New European Bauhaus? Implementing New European Bauhaus sometimes requires reforming our approaches to how we design, implement, and evaluate public services and policy. While only national authorities can submit applications to the programme, anyone can propose projects (reforms) for them to consider submitting them to the TSI call.

Watch the recording of last week's info session to learn more about the TSI programme and related procedures (e.g. how to submit a request, etc.). The presentation used in the recording can be downloaded here.

National authorities wanting to submit a request must do so by 31 October via their national Coordinating Authority. Visit this website to explore more information on the TSI programme (e.g. past projects, events and other inspiring information about the TSI, etc.).
