Bauhaus of the Seas Sails Open Call: International Art & Science Residency

/

date:  29/04/2024

Bauhaus of the Sea Sails project is calling on international creatives, collectives, and researchers in visual arts, food practices, science, communities, design, and architecture keen on regenerative climate solutions to apply to a residency programme.

Bauhaus of the Seas Sails runs pilot projects to demonstrate how a co-design process based on cultural practices can produce innovative and concrete proposals that address environmental and social challenges. These pilot projects, titled Ocean Literacy, Regenerative Menu, and Blue Makerspace, aim to bring an interdisciplinary understanding of how we can contribute to a more conscious sustainable future through a public program of activities, art and scientific residencies, and exhibitions in cultural spaces.

The three residencies are a part of these pilot projects. They are:

1. A Call to the Sea: a residency for collaborative projects between visual artists, scientists, and the local community aimed at rethinking zoologic museum collections.
2. Eating Between Tides: a residency for collaborative projects between artists, chefs, youth, and the local community to create a menu that highlights global food system challenges and proposes innovative regenerative solutions for the future.
3. Radical Waters – Concrete Matters: a residency for collaborative projects aimed at exploring research-based water material applications in coastal urban environments, aiming to inspire regenerative change within the local mindset ecosystem

All residencies are three months long and fully funded. Detailed information and application forms are available here. The application deadline is 14 May 2024.
