/

date:  13/02/2023

Bridging the European Union Green Deal with the New European Bauhaus, CrAFt is on a mission to bring together policymakers, academia, the cultural and creative sectors, property owners, and students to jointly shape the transition to climate neutrality in our cities.

The project supports the activities of the European Commission and the NetZeroCities Mission Platform linked to the design and deployment of the Climate City Contracts, based on knowledge from CrAFt’s 3 Sandbox Cities (Bologna, Prague, and Amsterdam) and 60 CrAFt Reference Cities.

It places the transition to climate neutrality at the heart of urban stakeholders. CrAFt develops, connects and showcases examples of local collaboration models to be replicated and scaled.

The latest updates from the project entail:

  • CrAFt has selected eight students from universities in the CrAFt pilot cities Amsterdam, Bologna, Prague, and Trondheim to join an interdisciplinary working group and to organise interdisciplinary student events and think/do tanks relating to key CrAFt themes The main responsibility of this group will be to collect documentation and inputs regarding the student activities in CrAFt.
  • Some of the first outputs of CrAFt are already available publicly:
    • New European Bauhaus (NEB) Impact Model: This is the first version of an assessing tool to be tested and developed further throughout the project. It contains a set of impact categories that cover the entire sustainability range and are relevant for New European Bauhaus projects and activities.
    • Governance Model and Management Plan for Think/Do Tanks led by students: These two documents will serve as a basis for CrAFt to test and develop a new collaborative format for students to actively tackle environmental challenges and engage with stakeholders in CrAFt cities.
