/

date:  28/11/2022

Last Friday the Nordic Carbon Neutral Bauhaus together with governments of Finland, Estonia and Sweden organized a high-level event “New European Bauhaus goes Into the Woods". The event featured prominent speakers, among them prime ministers of Finland, Estonia and Sweden, Commission president Ursula von der Leyen, member of our High-Level Round Table Prof. Hans Joachim Schellnhuber and others.

At the event’s press conference Commission president Ursula von der Leyen announced an establishment of a New European Bauhaus Academy for sustainable construction. It will focus mainly on research and innovation and on the necessary skills that we need for the green transition, mainly in the construction sector.

As a first step, the European Commission will offer online learning courses on bio-based materials in construction. And with Horizon Europe, it will call for bio-based material projects worth EUR 10 million in this research and innovation call.
