The conference for the Heads of Law Enforcement Training Institutes took place on 3 and 4 June, in the Headquarters of the Portuguese Judicial Police in Lisbon. The event was organised in the framework of the Euromed Police project implemented by CEPOL.

The conference was a direct follow-up to the Ministerial Conference on EU-MENA police cooperation, which was organised by the Portuguese Ministry of Interior in February 2023.

The conference aimed to draw attention to the importance of enhancing the skills and resources of law enforcement officials and criminal justice professionals in order to address evolving security threats. More particularly, it focused on the innovative solutions that greater public-private partnerships can offer and on the opportunities and challenges of Artificial Intelligence in law enforcement.

The event was organised in close cooperation with the Naïf Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS), an intergovernmental institution operating under the aegis of the Council of Arab Ministers of Interior, the EuroMed Justice Project and the Ministry of Homa Affairs and Judicial Police of Portugal.
