Signing ceremony of the Blue Mediterranean Partnership (BMP) at COP28 in Dubai. The side-event will take place on 2 December, at the Swedish Pavilion.

The EC will be represented by M. Geert Jan Koopman, Director General of NEAR Directorate. He will sign the Statement of Intent, on behalf of the Commission.

Several EU institutions will financially contribute to the Blue Mediterranean Partnership (BMP), namely the EBRD, EIB, SIDA (Sweedish Agency), AFD, KfW, among others and the initiative will be politically supported by the Union for Mediterranean (UfM).

DG MARE will be directly contribute to the fund through a 1 MEUR grant and DG NEAR is considering ways to contribute financially through existing financial facilities such as EIP, EFSD and EFSD+.
