The annual Steering Committee of the SwitchMed project took place in Vienna on Nov. 08th and 9th in UNIDO’s premises.

Funded by the European Union, with co-funding by the Governments of Italy and Catalonia, the SwitchMed II Programme aims to stimulate the creation of new greater business opportunities and decent employment while reducing the environmental footprint of existing consumption and production activities.

The fifth annual meeting of the Steering Committee has gathered donors, implementing agencies, Circular Economy National Focal Points, the Mediterranean Action Plan of the United Nations Environment Programme and the Union for the Mediterranean under the chairpersonship of the European Commission’s Directorate-general for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations (DG NEAR).

Progress, work plans and lessons learned have been shared and discussed in a context where the implementation of SwitchMed II was extended until 30 June 2024.
