Exploring Sustainable Investments: Best Practices and Collaborative Strategies Shared at the EBSOMED Conference

In the framework of the EBSOMED project , ANIMA organized from May 24th to 26th the conference "Aligning Investments with Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility" , with the collaboration of the Union for the Mediterranean (UpM), The event, supported by the German Development Cooperation, brought together experts and stakeholders from the business and investment sectors. the conference aimed at exploring ways of harmonizing investments with sustainable development goals and corporate responsibility strategies.
The conference witnessed the participation from public institutions, the private sector, business support organizations, investment promotion agencies, international financing and development institutions/investors, as well as think tanks and research centers. Meaningful dialogues on climate challenges were facilitated, featuring over 20 distinguished speakers. The exchange of strategies, practices, and visions among these entities enriched the discussions and fostered the exploration of innovative solutions to promote sustainable development in the region.
The conference yielded positive outcomes, shedding light on regulations that encourage businesses to engage in sustainable development at both the European level and in the countries of the southern Mediterranean. Strategies implemented by the private sector and public organizations in this field were shared, alongside dedicated discussions to define a joint Euro-Mediterranean strategy.
